Thyroid-Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI)

TSI measurements are used to monitor the response to Graves’ disease therapy and to predict remission or relapse, confirm Graves’ ophthalmopathy, and predict neonatal thyroid hyperthyroidism. Graves’ disease is one of the major causes of hyperthyroidism.

Because TSI is specific to the stimulatory kind of antibody, as contrasted with TRAb which detects both, therefore, the TSI test can lead to a better diagnosis of Graves’ disease.
